Part 7 · Annual Warehouse Inventory Notice
Questions 6-8 refer to the following notice.
Annual Warehouse Inventory Count
The Northfield warehouse will conduct its annual inventory count on Saturday, December 5. To ensure that stock figures are accurate, no incoming or outgoing shipments will be processed between 4:00 P.M. on Friday and 8:00 A.M. on Monday.
Customer Service may continue accepting orders during this period, but it must not confirm shipment dates until normal warehouse operations resume. Urgent orders for medical supplies may be released only with written approval from the Operations Director.
Department managers must submit the names of employees participating in the inventory count by November 25. Temporary access badges will be prepared in advance, so employees whose names are submitted late may experience delays entering the warehouse. Contractors must also present photo identification when checking in.
A preliminary report listing inventory discrepancies will be distributed on December 7. Each department will be responsible for investigating the items assigned to it and submitting explanations by December 11.

| 4 | C · indication | Noun with an appositive clause | The blank in "an ______ that..." needs a noun that can take an appositive that-clause; "indication" fits. 06 Answer techniques
Part 5 + 7 · 6 tips
- 01Verb word-choice discrimination for "curb"
Means "to restrain, control," often paired with "rising costs/expenses." "derive," "compel," and "omit" do not fit.
- 02The adverb "extensively" modifying a past participle
Modifying the past participle "renovated" requires an adverb. "extensive" (adjective), "extension" (noun), and "extending" (present participle) cannot modify it this way.
- 03The noun-clause connector "determine whether"
"whether" introduces an object clause expressing an uncertain yes/no question. "that" introduces a factual clause rather than a question, and "despite" (preposition) and "whereas" (contrastive conjunction) cannot introduce an object clause.
- 04"indication" plus an appositive that-clause
The blank in "an ______ that..." needs a noun that can take an appositive that-clause. "indicator" (usually takes "of"), "indicated" (a verb form), and "indicative" (adjective, usually "indicative of") do not fit.
- 05Conditional-conjunction discrimination for "as long as"
Means "provided that," introducing a conditional adverbial clause. "Even though" (concession), "In spite of" (preposition), and "As though" do not fit.
- 06Reading: locating a suspension scope, identifying an approval condition, and inferring a reason
Q6: locate the suspension scope precisely with "no...will be processed between X and Y." Q7: note "may be released only with..." — the sole approval condition for urgent medical-supply orders. Q8: locate the reason in the "..., so..." causal sentence: submitting names early is so access badges can be prepared.
