Questions 6-8 refer to the following e-mail.
To: All Project Teams From: Information Technology Subject: Document Platform Migration
The company will transfer its project documents to the new WorkSphere platform over the weekend of September 26–27. Beginning at 6:00 P.M. on Friday, September 25, employees will be unable to edit files stored on the current platform. Read-only access will remain available throughout the migration.
Normal access is expected to resume by 8:00 A.M. on Monday. If additional time is required, an update will be posted on the internal status page by 7:00 A.M. Employees scheduled to work during the weekend should download any files they may need before the editing restriction begins.
After the migration, existing folder permissions will remain unchanged. However, links saved in browser bookmarks may no longer function. A short guide explaining how to locate and share files in WorkSphere will be distributed on September 24.

attention(関心)、warning(警告)、announcement(発表)は意味的に関連はあるが、いずれも short と結び付いてこの意味にはならない。 |
| 4 | B · with | 定型コロケーション | 「be credited with (doing) sth」(〜の功績があるとされる)は定型表現で、前置詞は with に固定されている。 |
| 5 | B · In the event that | 条件を表す接続詞句の判別 | 「In the event that」(万一、もし〜なら)は条件を表す副詞節を導き、if よりも改まった言い方で、「システムが万一利用できなくなった場合」という仮定の文脈に合う。even though(〜にもかかわらず、譲歩)、as if(まるで〜のように)、now that(今や〜なので、既に起きた事実)はいずれも「まだ起きていない、仮定的な」文脈に合わない。 |
| 6 | C · View existing files | 詳細問題 | 本文の "employees will be unable to edit files... Read-only access will remain available throughout the migration." |
| 7 | A · Download the necessary files | 詳細問題 | 本文の "Employees scheduled to work during the weekend should download any files they may need before the editing restriction begins." |
| 8 | B · Current access permissions will be preserved. | 詳細問題 | 本文の "...existing folder permissions will remain unchanged."

- 01on short notice
on short notice の notice は「通知の予告期間」を意味し、attention(関心)、warning(警告)、announcement(発表)とは意味が全く異なる。
whoever = anyone who。「whoever is managing the account」という名詞節全体が前置詞 with の目的語となり、whoever 自体はその節内部の主語にすぎない。whom は先行詞が必要であり、who/whose は単独で目的語となる名詞節を導くことができない。
at/from/into に置き換えることはできない。
in the event that(万一、条件)と even though(〜にもかかわらず、譲歩)、as if(まるで〜のように、仮定)、now that(今や〜なので、既に起きた事実)は論理関係が全く異なる。
条件文(例:"If additional time is required...")
